What is Visual Art Con (VAC)

Visual Art Con is a multi-media visual artist convention coming to the Tangent Gallery in Detroit, MI on TBA. We are doing an open call to showcase visual artists & live performers together at an artistic immersive event. We will also be bringing together DJs, Vendors, Workshops & Sponsors to make an unforgettable experience.

Goals

Visual Art Con hopes to bring an annual convention to showcase the up & coming artists from around the world. Our launch party is in Detroit but we hope to expand first nationally, then internationally. As we grow one of our goals is to feature a select number of artists on a tour to showcase their exhibit or performance around the tour.

Inspirations

While performing as VJ Larson(Creator Larson Dawace[Kyle Teeples]) a visual artist I missed an open call overseas for a 13 stop tour across europe to showcase a VJ exhibit. I would love to bring this same kind of oppurtunity to the United States & unite artists from all over.

Location

The Tangent Gallery & Hastings Street Ballroom is a Detroit, MI one of a kind venue including 20+ years of Detroit's underground music. With 2 stages inside & 2 stages outside we will have a bunch of different artists, exhibits & performances. There will be an indoor & outdoor vending space along with the Tangent Gallery also has a great bar. Located right off the I75 freeway exit 54 at 715 E Milwaukee Ave, Detroit, MI 48202
